Canyon Sunset, Acrylic on Cradleboard, 8"x10"
new direction! Acrylic is so much fun. This painting is a poured acrylic – no brushwork
except for the sky. Although I might have a concept when I start, it doesn’t
always turn out so I go with the flow and make something out of the unexpected.
I’m working on a series of mountain paintings now with occasional diversions
into other subjects. Who know where it will lead.I currently have two paintings in the exhibition at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with the New Mexico Watercolor Society.
all of my art is derived from my photographs. This painting was a free form
watercolor with some stamping (see the vertical lines). It is fun to do this
type of painting and follow where the paint leads.
